About the Artist

" Art is my passion; whether rendering my children in charcoal sketches or
decorating my home, I strive to develop my artistic skills on a daily
basis.  I consider myself fortunate to be able to make a living through
jewelry design and share my inspiration with my customers."

Mary Kay Donnelly began her career as a self-taught and award winning
jeweler in 1970.  Through gallery exhibits, retail stores, and juried art
shows her work has spread world-wide.  Despite popular demand for her
jewelry, Mary Kay has insisted on retaining exclusive control of her
business to ensure the quality of her creations.  All of her designs are
available in 14k, 18k, and 22k gold, as well as sterling silver.  Mary Kay
insists on working with the highest quality metals and gemstones so that
the integrity of her work is never compromised.

"My mom may approach her life in a manner that differs from the norm, but
I've learned that therein lies her potential for the extraordinary.  Her
immense talent in the arts reflects her ability to see the world a bit
differently: to see the physical property of speed in a piece of silver and
carve out this feeling, to give a gold earring a sense of repose, and to
make jewelry that really does feel good to wear."

Mary Kay Donnelly's family has been immersed in her work from the
start.  The tireless support of her parents enabled her initially to learn
the craft and develop it fully.  Her husband Robert designed her display
and has continuously aided in her business endeavors.  Mary Kay's
daughters, Katie and Kylie, have provided much of the motivation for her
work and continue to serve as eager models for her newest designs.  Mary
Kay credits her family's appreciation of her innate talent as the most
rewarding facet of her career.

"My work has always reflected an appreciation for the intricacies of
nature.  The surrounding  environment provides an endless source of
inspiration; no one can argue that the beauty of a tree or flower is unrivaled.  I hope that my designs can somehow translate the awe and sense
of peace I feel when I look out the windows of my studio."

Mary Kay feels fortunate to work out of her home in the Pocono
mountains.  She finds motivation from a region named as one of the 40 "Last Great Places" in the world, according to the Nature Conservancy.  The
Poconos encompasses 7 state parks, over 150 lakes, 170 miles of navigable rivers, and 25 miles of the Appalachian Trail.  Mary Kay hopes to share her love of this self-deemed "paradise" with her customers through her nature designs.
